Political Correctness (Liberalisms First Attack on Freedom of Speech

George Orwell famously said that language can corrupt thought.  If true, whomever controls the language can corrupt thought.  The first form of liberal bullying I experienced in the mid 1990’s while in college was politically correct speech codes.  Once I left high school and entered a California State University, I immediately felt every belief I held suppressed.  I was against welfare and was told I couldn’t say that in class.  The liberal professors told me it was racist, as if only black people are welfare recipients.  I used the term illegal alien (the legal term) and was told I couldn’t say that in class.  The liberal professors told me it was racist, as if only Hispanics come here illegally and they’re all dark skinned.  I was pro capitalism and was told I couldn’t say that in class.  The liberal professors told me it was racist, as if only white people benefited from it.  I believed English should be made the official language of the United States and was told I couldn’t say that.  The liberal professors told me it was racist, as if all white immigrants were English speaking.  In addition, words that I considered innocuous were demonized.  I called African Americans black.  None of my black friends ever minded, but the Liberal-controlled Cal State University system was going to show them.  I called gay people gay and was told I had to refer to them as LGB.  Shortly after I was coerced into calling gay people LGB, I was ordered by the political-correctness police to refer to them as LGBT.  Of course, fifty other letters have been added since the 1990s with more to come as deemed necessary by liberal orthodoxy.  God forbid that one of Liberalisms newly created sex/gender identity groups isn’t in the acronym.  I mean the emotionally compromised members of that group could feel excluded and commit suicide en-masse.  

Due to political correctness’s ascendancy in the 1990’s, tens of millions of Americans were compelled to abandon their thoughts, feelings and beliefs.  If they didn’t, they were shamed, harassed, physically threatened, ostracized, fired or shunned.  In 2021, corporate America, under the pretense of inclusion and diversity, ramped up PC oppression.  I experienced this first hand when Vrbo, a leading vacation rental marketplace, began censoring words used in property descriptions.  I had a rental with plantation shutters.  The word plantation was in the property description for years.  All of a sudden, they wouldn’t allow me to use it.  They defended the censorship by stating that, “We’re combating the language of "systemic oppression”.  What they were actually doing was implementing systemic oppression.  Libpocrisy! 

In 2022, liberal academics at Stanford University turbocharged political correctness with their Elimination of Harmful Language initiative.  It's political correctness on steroids.  According to the initiative, "harmful language" is comprised of everyday words and terminology that they subjectively deem biased, racist or violent.   Addict, ballsy, dumb, freshman, handicap parking, insane, ladies, mankind, mentally ill, pow wow, senile, tribe and walk-in are now considered "harmful language".  Here's a question for you to ponder:  if liberals believe that I'm harming a person by using one of their prohibited words, do they believe it's justified to harm me?  You know the answer to that.  By the way, referring to a US citizen as an American is now politically incorrect.  Hmmm?

If you’re a liberal Democrat and no longer want to support a political party that says it’s against bullying while being the biggest bullies on earth, please leave the party.  It’s no longer what you signed up for.

American’s not willing to submit to political correctness bullying would soon face something far worse.  The liberals decided that all people who won’t submit must be destroyed.  Enter Cancel Culture.

July 6, 2020: In 2021, I began noticing that the term master bedroom was being replaced by primary bedroom.  As always, liberals accuse the term of being racist and sexist.  As usual, it isn't.  Master bedroom doesn't refer to the race or gender of the person sleeping in it.  My single mom slept in the master bedroom for decades.  She never gave it a second thought.  Anybody who chooses to be hurt by this term is emotionally pathetic.
